It has been a busy summer for AdvocacyLabs, the partnership between 50CAN and FutureEd that provides research-based insights into promoting change in education policy.

We’re pleased to release The Advocacy Labs Guide to the Science of Advocacy, a monograph distilling hundreds of studies, conducted by a wide range of scholars, into 31 actionable lessons for successful advocacy campaigns. Drawing on six years of AdvocacyLabs research, the book is designed to be a practical guide for advocates working to improve education policy and practice.

Using Advocacy to Expand Tutoring
In a recent FutureEd/50CAN webinar, experts explored ways to use the science of advocacy to expand high-quality tutoring in public education. Tutoring has emerged as a key strategy for helping students recover academically from the pandemic. FutureEd Policy Director Liz Cohen moderated an engaging conversation about how advocacy research can support tutoring with Stanford University Professor Susanna Loeb, JerseyCAN Executive Director Paula White, TennesseeCAN Executive Director Chelsea Crawford, and 50CAN CEO Marc Porter Magee.
