Friend,
When it comes to ending this terrible drug war, it’s so important to celebrate our wins.
And because of your steadfast support, we’ve had a lot of them this year. Thank you for playing your part.
But first – with just one day until our July 31 deadline, we only need 47 donors to step up and make a gift before midnight tomorrow. Will you be the one who gets us to our goal of 250 supporters?

We’ve come so far in this work across decades of organizing. But there is so much we still need to fight for — which is exactly why we can’t let our opponents roll back our progress.
Thanks to your support, we’re shaping the narrative and getting results:
Currently, almost half of Americans live in states where marijuana prohibition is no more. And in May 2024, the DEA finally moved to reschedule marijuana, just days after our 4/20 lobbying effort in Washington, D.C. And during the DEA’s public comment period on rescheduling, more than 20% of comments came from our movement. That’s power.
While rescheduling falls short of being a true policy solution, it shows this movement has made a real impact, and we won’t give up the fight.
In June, the Vermont legislature overrode the Governor’s veto, and authorized funds for an overdose prevention center (OPC) pilot in the state. This win is the result of years of thoughtful and courageous leadership, hard work, and grassroots advocacy, only made possible because of your support. Together, we presented the facts against misinformation to elected officials, community leaders, and voters — and the facts won. This is a victory that will save lives.
Earlier this year, AB 2188 took effect in California. It addresses one of the most common ways the drug war has seeped into everyday life. The bill removes workplace marijuana drug testing for most employees in the state. It also protects employees from punishment for off-the-clock use. We worked tirelessly with our allies to get this bill across the finish line and now California workers no longer face unfair barriers in employment for legal marijuana use in their personal time.
Friend, you know we’re far from finished — there’s a lot of hard work ahead. And we can’t afford to rest on our laurels. We need to use these wins as fuel to drive us forward and push for even more.
