Dear Friend, As we approach the start of Black Philanthropy Month in August, we want to invite you to join us in a special initiative. Your support has empowered countless individuals and transformed lives, and now you have the opportunity to send your thanks to the dedicated staff of the National Urban League who work tirelessly to make this possible. Meet Tre’Sean, a young man whose life took a positive turn thanks to the Springfield Urban League. Enrolled in our programs since April 2022, Tre’Sean has made tremendous strides as a productive community member. When he began with SUL Workforce, he was just starting his GED classes at Lawrence Education Center, influenced by negative peers and distracted from his education. However, with the support of the Springfield Urban League, he quickly proved his capability, passing multiple sections of his GED exam and is now projected to graduate from Lincoln Land Community College in June. Tre’Sean’s growth extends beyond education. After a tragic incident where he was shot, he leaned on his family and the SUL team, particularly through Male Empowerment groups, to recover and make positive life changes. Today, he works diligently at Arby’s and serves as a role model for his younger brothers, embodying the impact of NUL’s programs. In recognition of your incredible support, we invite you to extend your gratitude to the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to make these successes possible. Just like Tre’Sean, our staff are committed to defending democracy, promoting diversity, and defeating poverty every single day. Send your thanks to an Urban League staffer – giving hope and changing lives. By signing this digital card, you’ll be showing your appreciation for their hard work and dedication. With gratitude, Marc H. Morial President and Chief Executive Officer P.S. As our recent State of Black America® reported, Black Americans are only receiving 75.7% of the whole pie compared to whites. Will we accept that? NO! Help us keep up the fight for our full rights by making a donation. Every dollar counts! |
