July Newsletter

Dear Friends,

At the beginning of July, WIIS welcomed the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., with a breakfast to celebrate women’s leadership and discuss NATO’s role in advancing the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda. We were joined by Irene Fellin (NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for WPS and Founding President of WIIS Italy), Ambassador Geeta Rao Gupta (Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues, U.S. Department of State), and Jessica Lewis (Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, U.S. Department of State) as keynote speakers.

Looking ahead, we have many exciting opportunities and events lined up. We are excited to build off our success during the NATO summit and continue discussions that foster the advancement of the WPS agenda.

We value your input on how to better support our amazing community and members. We continue to encourage our community to be vocal and active members of our network. Please reach out to [[email protected]] with any feedback or suggestions you may have.

Please note: The WIIS newsletter will be on break for August. We'll be back with more updates and events in early September. Enjoy your summer, and we look forward to reconnecting soon!

Warm regards,

Ariela Blatter

President & CEO, Women In International Security (WIIS)
