Anonymous,

The Trump administration just announced that they're gutting the Endangered Species Act (ESA)-- increasing the chances of thousands of species going extinct.

Under their new plan, we would be putting a price tag on Endangered Species Act protections -- weighing the risk of extinction against short-term profits from drilling, logging or mining. And protections for species that are only considered "threatened" by extinction would be weakened going forward.[1]

The Endangered Species Act is one of the cornerstones of our environmental protection in America. Will you support our work to defend the Endangered Species Act -- and all of our work to protect the environment -- with a donation today?

We're already facing a terrifying mass extinction event, with species vanishing 1000 times faster than normal.[2]

And the fact is, the Endangered Species Act works. More than 99 percent of protected species have survived to this day. It's thanks to the ESA that bald eagles, humpback whales and many other incredible species beat the odds and made it onto the road to recovery.[3]

We won't put a price tag on extinction. Some things are just more important than making a few dollars from more oil and gas -- especially at a time when we should be transitioning off of fossil fuels as quickly as possible.
