John,

Compassion, safety, stability – HOPE. This is what you’ve given, and we are so very grateful.
Thank you to many supporters and friends who have responded to the urgent needs of survivors impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Working in collaboration with our community-based partners in restoration, this is what we’ve, together, provided Audrey and to many other survivors…
- One month of daycare to a survivor in Colorado whose household income was reduced to 25% of their normal income. This enabled them both to work to attempt to stay afloat.
- Rent and electric bill to survivor in New York City who was laid off.
- Utility bill to survivor in Texas whose hours were cut.
- Mortgage and a utility bill to survivor in New York who is ill with COVID-19 and also out of work because of the illness.
- Mortgage and utility bill for a survivor in North Dakota who was laid off.
- Rent and utility bill for a survivor in South Carolina experiencing a radical cut of work hours.
As we move into May, we, along with our partners, strongly believe the situation and need will worsen before it begins to get better, meaning we expect to see more people have financial issues in May than have had in April due to the amount of time unemployed, being recently laid off and/or having children out of school.
But in times in crisis, Shared Hope’s resolve is only strengthened to stand in the gap... to keep hope alive!
In anticipation, several of Shared Hope’s friends and donors have come together to offer a $104,000 Matching Challenge for these needs…and to ensure Shared Hope's crucial work of preventing trafficking, restoring and empowering survivors, and bringing justice continues. This means that any gift you give to this campaign, the impact will go twice as far, helping keep all of this life-changing work going and more.
Join with us if you can. The Keep Hope Alive Matching Challenge begins May 1, 2020. To participate, visit www.sharedhope.org starting May 1 through June 15, 2020.
Collectively as a family over the last 21-years, we have proven time and time again that when we work together, we can change lives. Even now, we believe that we can and will provide safety and stability to survivors weathering the COVID-19 storm. We will keep hope alive – one life at a time.
