The 2024 Summer Olympics are officially underway, John!

We’re excited to cheer on Team USA. And we thought we’d have a little Olympic game for ourselves here at All On The Line. Want you to play along with us?

There are *so* many states with gerrymandered maps — but we want to hear from the AOTL community which state should get the “gold medal” for most ridiculous map manipulation. Here are just a few of the top contenders. Cast your vote below!

P.S. If you need a reminder on just how bad these maps are, don’t fear! Here’s a quick refresher:

- Ohio: In the past decade’s election results, Democrats and Republicans have averaged about an 8 point-split statewide in the Buckeye State, but the new state house map contains 62 Republican districts and 37 Democratic districts, while the new state senate map contains 23 Republican districts and 10 Democratic districts.
- North Carolina: In 2022, the state’s congressional map was split 50/50 between Democrats and Republicans — but last year, lawmakers rammed through a new map that gives the GOP what could be an 11-3 advantage.
- Texas: The latest congressional map doubles down on the last decade’s GOP gerrymanders, eliminates competitive seats, and increases the number of majority-white districts — despite the fact that 95% of Texas’s population growth came from people of color in the most recent census.
