Team, you may have heard Donald Trump was at the Jersey Shore for a big campaign fundraiser yesterday. Based on the ticket prices — which were as high as $500,000 per head — the GOP likely raised millions of dollars in just a few hours.

But this blowout fundraiser isn’t what worries us most about Donald Trump this week.

Last Friday, just before departing for the Jersey Shore, Donald Trump addressed an audience of young activists at a ultra-right-wing conference in Palm Beach, FL.

And after urging them to vote for him this November, he added:

“You have to get out and vote. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four years, it will be fixed, it will be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore… In four years, you won’t have to vote again.”

Team, when we say our democracy is at stake this November, this is what we mean. And with Donald Trump adding New Jersey to his battleground map and claiming he can flip our state, that means the fate of our democracy is right at our doorstep.
