Hi, John! It’s Dan, Director of Organizing and Digital Engagement at the Jane Fonda Climate PAC.
Look, transparency is everything to me, so I want to pull back the curtain a bit. We email you often about our fundraising efforts — not because we love to watch our bank account go up, but because it’s absolutely crucial to our mission.
One of the first things I do every morning is check our online fundraising dashboard for updated contribution statistics — how much we raised the day before, or over the weekend if it’s a Monday, how we’re doing this month compared to last month, etc. I won’t bore you with all of the details (not today at least!), but two of the stats that I pay close attention to are how many individual contributions we’ve received and the average donation amount.
This is what that looks like for this month so far:
What does this mean? To me, it shows that our movement is truly powered by grassroots supporters across the country who are ready to see some real action on climate. We’re never going to compete dollar for dollar with the kinds of mega-billionaires that Trump and other bought-and-paid-for politicians have on their side, but I believe that together, we can elect climate champions across the country who base their climate platforms on the science, not on who the highest bidder is.
Your contributions are essential for us to combat the millions of dollars that fossil fuel interests spend to drown out our voices.
This election cycle is pivotal. With Donald Trump poised to push Project 2025 — a plan that could devastate environmental protections — and record-breaking extreme heat waves becoming the norm, the stakes have never been higher. The choices we make now will shape our climate’s future for decades to come.
Can you help our team by making a donation today? The stakes are incredibly high this election cycle, and every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Online donations are vital to everything we do, and your support enables us to make endorsements and invest in races based on how much we think our supporters will contribute to emails just like this one. If we fall short, it could hinder our ability to invest in voter education, direct candidate support, and organizing for the rest of the election cycle.
Your support could be the difference between electing leaders who will challenge the fossil fuel industry and those who won’t.
So please, if you’re able, chip in any amount to help us continue our work through 2024 and beyond.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
I can’t thank you enough.
