The United States Department of State Unveils 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report

To commemorate World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we want to highlight the 2024 Annual Trafficking in Persons report. Each year since 2001, the United States Department of State has released an annual report providing the world's most comprehensive assessment on human trafficking including the long-standing and evolving forms and methods of trafficking such as how technology is being used to lure and recruit victims. While the acceleration of technology is making it easier for traffickers to exploit online platforms, the newly released 2024 report highlights the promise of technology to prevent this practice and calls on governments, businesses, and the general public to cross-functionally work together.

Highlights of the report include education and outreach efforts, victim services, and data collection and sharing efforts. View more information on the report here.

PACT Shines at United Nations Office of Drug and Crime (UNODC)'s Panel: "Accelerating Action on SDG 16.2 to Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Trafficking in Persons"

PACT CEO Lori Cohen recently participated in a panel at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) to discuss our critical efforts of ending child sexual exploitation and trafficking. This event encouraged the accelerated action to tackle the issue of child trafficking, protect vulnerable groups from exploitation, and support child victims of trafficking. Its timing is pertinent given the review of SDG16 during the 2024 HLPF, specifically target 16.2, which aims to “end abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence and torture against children.”

A sincere thank you to our partners, Hard Rock International, American Hotel and Lodging Association Foundation, Marriott Hotels, Carlson Family Foundation, Stardust Foundation, and Thadhani Foundation, for helping to make the work at PACT possible!
