Hi John, it's certainly been a challenging start to 2020: from catastrophic bushfires — and now the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, if there's anything these crises have taught us, it's that we care, that we're kind — and that we are stronger together. While we are all coming to terms with a 'new normal', and the full implications of this global event continue to unfold, the Animals Australia team is as committed as ever to providing animals the world over with the representation they need.
In the update below you will read how your kindness and support are helping animals. Our warmest wishes to you and your family. May you be well and remain so.

Critical help for animals in need
Our global Emergency Grants program is providing life-saving assistance to animals impacted by Covid-19. From elephants in Thailand to cows in India and dogs in Bali — we're working with animal protection groups on the ground to get animals the food, water and medical assistance they urgently need to survive.

1 million sheep spared from live export horror
In a world-first, Australia has banned the live export of sheep during three of the deadliest months of the year — the Middle East summer. With your help, we've come a long way since our first live export investigation 17 years ago. And now one million animals every year will no longer endure these harrowing journeys. It's great progress, but the ban should have gone further...

She's still waiting...
10 years after the promised government review of battery cages was to begin, hens are still locked behind bars. With laws failing to protect the 'invisible' animals in factory farms, see how we've been telling their stories on national TV.

Providing life-saving water!
In a country where drought and bushfires have become the new 'norm', Animals Australia and DoSomething have joined forces to distribute brilliantly simple drinking stations to get water to where animals need it most.

Operation: Firegrounds rescue
John, these are just some of the ways you helped Animals Australia fuel a massive life-saving response to the bushfire crisis. Thank you.

This is how freedom feels
The true value of freedom is surely most appreciated by those who have experienced the lack of it. After a lifetime kept confined, stripped of any control over their movement — let alone future — witness how these rescued animals so readily embrace their freedom, and take their first steps into a kinder world.
