Two bills we've endorsed are finally getting a vote tomorrow in the U.S. Senate: The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0) as a joint package, now called the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act (KOSPA).

KOSA, with 70 bipartisan co-sponsors, provides young people and parents with the tools, safeguards, and transparency they need to protect against online harms. COPPA 2.0 updates data privacy rules for the 21st century to ensure children and teenagers are protected online.

Congress has not passed legislation to protect kids online since 1998, but we can change that now. Urge your senators to protect kids online and vote YES on the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act (S. 2073).

An overwhelming bipartisan passage of this legislation in the Senate would mark a huge milestone in holding Big Tech accountable. The legislation ensures that young people and their parents would no longer be responsible on their own for their safety online, and platforms like Meta would be legally required to prioritize young people’s privacy and safety.

This bill will prevent harm and save lives. Email your senators to pass KOSPA (S. 2073) out of the Senate.

This historic legislation would be the most significant online protection for kids in 25 years. With children suffering from cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, eating disorders, and other dangers fueled by Big Tech's algorithms and design, this presents our best shot at creating a safer online environment for our children.
