Friend,
We’re coming off a turbulent and unprecedented time that has reshaped the presidential race.
Donald Trump’s indictments. The assassination attempt on him. Joe Biden’s condition. All issues that took all the oxygen out of the room.
Hopefully, this rollercoaster ride has ended and we now know what the election will look like. Vice President Kamala Harris will likely be the Democratic nominee - a great choice. I’ve worked with her when she was California Attorney General and she is a star who is uniquely qualified to run and win.
Now that this has been settled, the focus needs to be on the issues. We have many problems in this country, this state and this city. Actually, it's not just New York City, it's many large cities. Crime, affordable housing, a second-class education system, the migrant situation, which didn’t magically disappear. All issues with no real solutions offered.
I talked about this in more detail in an Op-ed published today in the Daily Beast, which you can read here
I discussed this yesterday as a guest of my friend, Rev. Al Cockfield at his Sunday service, which you can listen to below.
For far too long, there’s been no urban agenda in this nation and the Democrats have an opportunity to make one. Tell voters what you’re going to do and how exactly you’re going to fix what’s broken.
