Visitors can plan a perfect day at the state Capitol thanks to a new website, Capitol.wa.gov [ [link removed] ], which showcases the memorials, trees, and open space that make the buildings and grounds a place of inspiration, civic engagement, history, and natural and architectural beauty.
DES built Capitol.wa.gov [ [link removed] ] to give visitors one location to find information for planning a visit, scheduling a tour, and requesting space to hold an event. Built with the principles of human-centered design, the new site aims to improve the user experience for each of the estimated 400,000 visitors who set foot on the Capitol grounds each year.
“This new website represents a significant milestone in our mission,” said DES Director Tara C. Smith. “To connect with their government, people all across the state need to be able to tap into our Capitol—its history, its vital present, and the promise of its future.”
