The stakes really are as high as people say they are, John.
The next president will likely get to pick two new Supreme Court nominees, as Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito are both in their mid-70s and likely to retire in a few years.
This means that if Donald Trump wins the presidency and Justices Thomas and Alito retire before 2028, Trump will have personally chosen five out of the nine justices.

The Supreme Court, which already has a conservative-leaning majority, recently made detrimental decisions on key issues like reproductive rights with the overturning of Roe v. Wade and presidential immunity with Trump v. United States. An increase in the conservative majority on the Court would pose a threat to our democracy and our fundamental rights.
We cannot let Trump pick two more nominees — no president should hold this much power over the highest judicial body in the country.
The only way we can stop him is by registering and mobilizing our community. Can we count on you to donate today and power this crucial work? A $24 donation helps us reach one new Latino voter in a swing state >>
We can’t let him win, John.
