Hi John,
Our democracy depends on everyday people like you, willing to serve on the frontlines of democracy to make sure every vote is counted. According to estimates from the Election Assistance Commission, about one million poll workers are needed to staff1 the more than 130,000 polling places across the country for the 2024 general election.
That’s why Issue One is partnering with Power the Polls to honor, celebrate, and recruit a new wave of poll workers. Without the help of poll workers, elections in the United States would not function. Will you join us in supporting democracy by signing up to be a poll worker?
As a poll worker, you help to keep elections in your community free and fair. You will work with others who are committed to ensuring elections run smoothly by keeping early voting locations open, ensuring technology works, and helping voters who may need additional support at the polls. It’s a great way to give back, deepen your civic engagement, and you may even get paid depending on where you live!
We’ve also released a new analysis about the creative ways local election officials are recruiting for this critical role. Want to help us spread the word about our new analysis and Poll Worker Recruitment Day? Share our tweet and forward this email to your family and friends!
Thank you for joining Issue One to help ensure accessible elections for all voters.
Thank you for all you do!
