Beware of Election-Related Scams

With the general election on November 5th less than 100 days away, there is a significant increase in communication to voters from campaigns, political parties, political action committees (PACs), and advocacy groups at all levels of government. This communication may include solicitations for donations, opportunities to register to vote or request an absentee ballot, opinion polling, etc.

Although the majority of these communications are legitimate, it is important, as always, to be aware of the possibility of scams. These scams can take many forms. Click below to read a recent article from AARP about four common scams and best practices you can use to protect yourself while still maintaining your preferred level of engagement in the political process.
