John, I want to tell you a story about my commitment and dedication to the job as Congressman for Illinois' 4th Congressional District.
When I was just 10 years old, I came to the United States with my family and I joined my father who worked tirelessly in the fields and later in a cold storage plant in Chicago.
I will never forget the trip we made, and in fact, I still remember my first American meal: a bologna sandwich from a roadside diner in Texas.
These memories have stayed with me through the years and have guided me in everything I've done: from organizing local movements for workers' rights in Chicago to advocating for community empowerment and civil rights.
It's this journey and these experiences that fuel my passion for serving our community in Congress.
Thanks to a community that welcomed me with open arms, I was able to grow from an immigrant boy from Durango to becoming the first Mexican-American in Congress from the Midwest.
That's why I understand the challenges and hopes of our community because I've lived them, driving my commitment to fight for affordable healthcare, quality education, and equal opportunities for everyone in Illinois.
But I can't do this alone.
John, reaching Election Day is crucial to continue being a progressive voice in Congress to improve the lives of everyone in our communities. Will you stand with us with a donation today to help us be ready to fight for our communities?
