Friends and Comrades - We had a wonderful General Meeting yesterday, where we had a chance to hear updates on labor, mutual aid, and our chapter budget. We then had an opportunity to share our thoughts on how the chapter should handle the upcoming General Election. This week, we've got action on housing, green spaces, and are looking for some good members to run for At-Large Organizer positions on our Organizing committee. Read on for details!

Fight Housing Discrimination!

This Wednesday night, the City Council will be considering a bill that would ban housing discrimination based on "source-of-income" and sex. This is an important bill, as it will prohibit landlords from denying people? the chance to rent based on whether they receive housing vouchers.

?

If you are able, please attend this meeting to voice your support for this bill, either in person(200 Lincoln Ave.) or over Zoom(link here.)?

Run for At-Large Organizer Positions!

Do you know a DSA? member in good standing(including yourself!) who is ready to step into a leadership position? Nominate them as an At- Large Organizer!

?

At our August General Meeting, we will have the chance to elect 4 At-Large Organizer positions for 6 month terms. At-Large Organizers are voting members of our Organizing Committee and have the opportunity to pursue organizing goals that interest them.??

?

If you would like to nominate someone(again, including yourself!) as an At-Large Organizer, please contact our Secretary, Todd. He can be reached at 505-469-1794 or at [email protected].

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
