Friend, the Olympics have begun!
As a two-time Olympic medalist in gymnastics and a UNICEF Ambassador, I’m so excited to be in Paris to watch the incredible things that athletes are able to accomplish.
At the same time, one of the most powerful things that Olympians do is inspire children all over the world. I felt that inspiration when I first fell in love with gymnastics and began to compete. The opportunity to participate in sports can help children develop skills, find joy and pursue their potential.
That’s why UNICEF’s efforts and programs to help children find ways to play and engage with sports are so critical. Take a look at how UNICEF protects children’s right to play.
As a UNICEF Ambassador, I’m proud to promote the work that UNICEF is doing for children. Around the world and especially in crisis zones, UNICEF establishes child-friendly spaces where children can play without fear of violence. In these spaces, children are able to play, connect with each other and overcome hardships.
I hope you’re as thrilled as I am to be watching the Olympics this year and empowered by how your support helps create access to sports and play for children everywhere.
