Our medical professionals are fighting a war — the worst of which is being fought in hospitals right here in Brooklyn — and they are doing it despite critical shortages in personal protective equipment (PPE), ICU beds, and ventilators. 

Healthcare workers are bravely going into battle each and every day and putting their lives on the line to help us battle this pandemic. The least we can do is fight to ensure they have all the tools they need to wage this war safely and effectively.

On the Bipartisan Coronavirus Task Force, I’m leading the charge in getting our healthcare workers essential PPE, guaranteed paid sick leave, emergency childcare, and so much more.

But friend, we’re facing an uphill battle. President Trump has made it more difficult for us to give healthcare workers the support they need, and the only way we’re going to get the changes we need is to show him that folks across the country are sick of his inaction.

I am so thankful to the medical professionals on the frontlines. Here in Brooklyn, and across the country, we are indebted to their bravery, sacrifice, and care. It’s because of them that we will eventually overcome this crisis.

That’s why it’s so important that we support and protect our healthcare workers.

As our country fights to survive this global pandemic, health care workers are our first line of defense - and we must act to support them NOW.
