Friend,
Yesterday, President Donald Trump told the nation what we already know here in Indiana – Indiana is making some phenomenal progress in our fight against COVID-19.
“…some (states) are doing phenomenally well. Indiana, I looked at their numbers…it’s incredible what they’re doing.”
And today, Governor Holcomb announced that Indiana is leading the way through a new partnership with the Fairbanks School of Public Health for a multi-phased, scientifically-valid, statewide study.
This study will examine the true prevalence of Hoosiers who have been infected with COVID-19 and now have antibodies. Complementing existing clinical testing, a random sample of Hoosiers – representative of our entire state by demographics and region – have already started to receive invitations to participate in this study. The first phase of this study will start on Saturday, and preliminary results will be available in just a few days.
Indiana is one of the first states to conduct a study like this, which gives us a head-start as we continue to make data-driven decisions in our response to this pandemic.
With a clearer data-driven view of this virus’ spread, we’ll gain an even greater community-level understanding of this virus, allowing Governor Holcomb and our local leaders to continue to act swiftly to keep Hoosiers safe and healthy.
If you’re one of the thousands of Hoosiers who is randomly selected to participate in this study (in this first phase or a future phase) – please participate, and together, we’ll see the light at the end of this tunnel soon.
#INThisTogether,
