This is the Montana Mileage Report -- a monthly newsletter about Kimberly Dudik and the race for Montana Attorney General. Since the Coronavirus epidemic caused public gatherings in the US to be heavily restricted, Kimberly has had to cancel her in-person events. Still, she is finding means of communicating with Montanans so that she continues to fight for her fellow Montanan's wellbeing in the face of this crisis. Here are some of the things she's been up to this past month.

Gaining Momentum
Kimberly just received three major endorsements: Carol's List, the Montana chapter of National Organization of Women, and the National Caucus of Political Women. All of these organizations recognize what a champion Kimberly is for reproductive rights, economic justice, and are ready to put a woman in Montana's Attorney General's office. This is big news and proves that Kimberly is unstoppable going into this primary election.

Words from our Supporters
Kimberly's supporters have been outspoken on their choice for Montana's next Attorney General. Susie Reber Orr wrote in the Missoulian, "I'm not sure if there has ever been a more qualified candidate to seek this most important office as the state's lead attorney and law enforcement officer."

In the midst of a public health crisis, it's more important than ever to have leadership that recognizes the various communities this pandemic affects. Former State Senator and Vietnam War Veteran Cliff Larsen spoke out about Kimberly's unique understanding as a former nurse to address how COVID-19 presents challenges to our seniors and veterans. Election Update: Voting By Mail
Due to COVID-19, all counties will be voting-by-mail in the June 2 primary. This will be the first time ever that Montana has done mail-in ballot voting statewide. Here's what you need to know:

Voting in the June 2nd Primary in Montana: 1. All Montanan counties will be using all-mail ballots 2. This is the first time all counties have used mail only ballots for a statewide election 3. Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters within Montana on May 8 4. Voters don't have to worry about postage when returning their ballots by mail because their county will take care of it 5. The ballot must arrive at the county election office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, June 2 6. Voters can drop off their ballots in person at the county election office 7. If you are going to mail in your ballot, county election officials recommend mailing your ballot no later than May 26 -- the Tuesday the week before the election

Doing Our Part
Last week, Kimberly partnered with the United States of Hope to bottle and distribute hand sanitizer to frontline workers in need. As a nurse, she knows how important hand sanitizer is to protect those who are protecting us in the midst of this pandemic. As part of USOH's Mission First Hand Sanitizer Program, Kimberly helped to provide this vital product to law enforcement, frontline workers, veterans, nurses, and Indian Health Services.

COVID-19 Resources

This pandemic is affecting our community in so many ways. We wanted to offer some resources to address a few of the most pressing issues.

HOUSING HELP: Having a hard time paying your rent because of COVID-19? Gov. Bullock issued an order and stopped all evictions for nonpayment through April 10. This doesn't mean you don't have to pay your rent if you can. If you can't, you should contact your landlord to develop a plan about the rent payment. You can access a simple form letter to send to your landlord to postpone, reduce, or waive rent at MontanaLawHelp.org. You can also call 2-1-1 to see if you can have financial & other assistance. Check out the COVID-19 section on MontanaLawHelp.org. Contact the Montana Legal Services Association HelpLine at 1 (800) 666-6899 for help or more information.

FOOD ASSISTANCE: These are unprecedented times with growing numbers of unemployment. People who have never had an issue purchasing food will not be able to afford food. Many towns have food banks where you can receive food for free. Access these resources: they are available to help. It is important to take care of yourself and if you have children, remember how important it is for them to have good nutrition which is available free of cost. Another option if you are worried about how to feed your child because schools is out is to contact your child's school by phone or check out their website. Many of them have sack meals available and some are using buses to deliver these to your home.

JOB ASSISTANCE: Unemployment numbers continue to rise during this time of social distancing and stay-at-home orders. If you are facing employment challenges, if your hours have decreased or you are temporarily not working because of COVID-19, help is available at montanaworks.gov

LOANS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES, NONPROFITS, HOMEOWNERS: If you have a small business, nonprofit, or are a homeowner and are having hardship because of Coronavirus, a small business/homeowner/nonprofit loan may be available through the Federal Disaster Loans. https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance
