NATO has been a powerful force for peace in the world. As readers of this column might surmise, I am a big supporter of our military. Support for the military is one of the rare things our federal government is constitutionally supposed to be doing. If I see a member of the military in a restaurant, the meal is on me. Yet increasingly I am baffled by the simple question: Where is all that money going?
Recently I received a news alert that the House Armed Services Committee had passed an $884 billion defense bill for next year’s budget. There is a lot of good news here. |

NOTABLE QUOTES |
Dr. Ben Carson former Republican presidential candidate on Kamala Harris: “She is a politician, and she’s interested in the accumulation of power and control. I think she believes in government, like most Marxists. I think she is a Marxist.”
G.K. Chesterton British author and philosopher: “When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.”
Kurt Schlichter columnist for Townhall.com: Here’s the brutal reality. We must be willing to inflict pain on our enemies, and the refusal to do so ensures your own people are going to suffer pain because the other side is damn sure not worried about feeling bad for hurting us. We have seen our own people ruined and abused by cancel culture, and we need to use our power to stop it by any means necessary – including the means of being mean. |
