Our team understands that this is a trying time for our families and our nation. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this pandemic. While this crisis is keeping Democrats off of the campaign trail for the time being, our fight for victory in November continues. Please only make a contribution if you are able to do so. We appreciate your support.

Team,

Senator Rosen said I could send you a message to let you know about our must-win fight in South Carolina.

I want to share my story with you, and tell you how it shaped me into the person that I am today.

I'd really appreciate if you could read this entire email.

But before I do, I have to ask for a $5 donation to help me defeat Lindsey Graham: Can I count on you?

In 1992, I met Jim Clyburn for the first time.

I had just been elected President of the National Honor Society in my high school in Orangeburg, SC and he had just been elected to Congress. I didn't know any better, so I reached out to him and asked if he would swear me in.

He agreed, and came down for a little ceremony. I'll never forget it, folks. That was the start of a friendship with a man who is like a father to me.

Two years later, I graduated from that Orangeburg high school, headed off to Yale University, and eventually worked for Congressman Clyburn in Washington D.C.

When I graduated from Georgetown Law in 2002, I knew it was time to make good on a promise I made to myself.

Years earlier, when I was young, a conman forced my grandparents into foreclosure. I promised myself that I would buy them a new home.

My grandparents didn't have much, but they raised me right. They taught me that character counts -- and so does hard work. It meant a lot that I could buy them a home to give them the happiness they deserved.

And that's my story: I went from a kid growing up poor in Orangeburg, to a man who is ready to fight for South Carolina in the Senate. But I never could have done it without the unbelievable kindness of others.

I'm running to make sure that everyone in South Carolina has a Senator who will work for them. But I need your help. Will you chip in $5 to help me defeat Lindsey Graham?

My story is unusual for a kid from the "Corridor of Shame". But it shouldn't be.

That's why in 2019, I made the decision to run for Senate. Because I believe in an America where there are opportunities for ALL -- not just the wealthy few.

I used to believe Lindsey Graham was a statesman -- a Senator who stood above the fray and worked across party lines. But sadly, he stopped fighting for the people of South Carolina a long time ago.

Lindsey Graham traded his moral compass for petty political gain and sold out his constituents while taking millions from special interests.

I remember a time when Senators helped the people they represented. I want to bring that spirit back and help ALL of us achieve our American dreams.

I'm grateful that so many people have chosen to join me in this fight. With people like you at my side, we can beat Lindsey Graham and elect new leadership for South Carolina.

So please, donate $5 or whatever you can to my campaign →
