Dear John,

It was a historic week for America, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on
how I am fighting for our conservative values.

Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s congressional hearing was
nothing short of an embarrassment. Like many Americans, I anticipated answers
to the questions of how, why, and what went wrong. Instead, we received a
masterclass in evasion, which infuriated both Republicans and Democrats. Her
resignation was the first step. Now, the American people need answers. This is
why I votedAYE on H. Res. 1367, a resolution to create a bipartisan task force
to investigate the assassination attempt on July 13, which resulted in the
death of a local hero, Corey Comperatore, and nearly led to the murder of
President Donald J. Trump.

I am thankful that Democrats and Republicans came together to unanimously pass
the resolution and create the task force. Congress, with 416 members voting
yes, has united to uncover the truth and ensure this never happens again.

On Wednesday, I proudly led a congressional debate in support of two crucial
bills: H.R. 8997, theDepartment of the Interior, Environment, and Related
Agencies Appropriations Act, and H.R. 8998, the Energy and Water Development
and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. These bills are designed to slash
wasteful spending, fund the government, and put an end to the Biden-Harris
administration's disastrous Green New Deal agenda. In the process, Republicans
are taking bold steps to eliminate unnecessary government regulations and
defund ineffective and radical DEI programs. When we unleash our American
energy potential, we’re pushing back on China and Russia, ensuring our nation
remains strong and independent. These bills also tackle local issues by
removing the gray wolf from the endangered species list. This legislation is
about promoting limited government, ensuring your money is spent wisely, and
putting America first.

I had the privilege of attending Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s
speech before a joint session of Congress. The Prime Minister shared points of
common interest between our two countries.First, we need to bring the hostages,
including American citizens, home from Gaza.Second, Iran is sowing chaos by
funding campus rioters and destabilizing the Middle East; they must be deterred.
Finally, there can be no peace with Hamas in Gaza. However, some of my
colleagues' absence, and that of the vice president, may have been the most
striking part of the entire speech. Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic
nominee, skipped out on the speech, embracing pro-Hamas, Iranian-backed
rioters, and protestors who’d rather sympathize with terrorists than support
our ally. It’s a cowardly move from those who fear the most hateful flanks of
their own party.

I’m looking forward to welcoming Sen. J.D. Vance and President Donald J. Trump
to Minnesota tonight! If you are heading to Saint Cloud, drive safely. As
always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.

Thank you for your continued support!

With gratitude,
