In the eight months since our founder Norman Lear passed away, People For the American Way has continued his tireless fight for the progressive values he believed defined the American Way. We march on, inspired by Norman’s deep love for this country.
Norman often said there wasn’t a day that went by when he didn’t pick up his morning newspaper and thank God that People For was there. Norman spoke for all of us when he recognized the power of People For supporters in opposing the forces that aim to divide us and weaken our rights.
Today, we invite you to be a part of his legacy. Norman’s vision and values have guided us for the last 40 years and with supporters like you, they will continue to guide us for 40 more years to come. In the wake of his death, we set up the Norman Lear Legacy Fund. This fund helps us continue our work fighting back against far-right extremists and championing our democracy.
Safeguarding our rights from attack demands constant vigilance to prevent the erosion of progress. Norman knew these fights—his and ours—would continue long into the future and require ongoing support and advocacy from leaders like you.
