Wow. Earlier this week I joined fellow elected officials on the steps of City Hall to unite behind San Francisco’s own Kamala Harris for president.

It’s been an emotional few days. President Biden’s decision not to seek re-election must have been a difficult one, but it’s a decision that someone like Donald Trump would never make–to put his country before his own self interest.
Joe Biden’s legacy as one of the most impactful presidents in American history has been secured and I thank him for his many years of selfless service to the nation.
Now, as the President has said, it’s time to unite behind Kamala Harris, to defeat Donald Trump, safeguard our democracy, and move our country forward.

San Francisco knows Kamala Harris, and San Francisco loves Kamala Harris. As our District Attorney, then our AG, US Senator, and Vice President, Kamala has always been in public service for the right reasons–to fight for and deliver for working people and those without a voice.
I have no doubt that as our next President, Kamala Harris will be a transformational leader who will ensure that this nation comes together and that everyone has a voice in our shared future.
