PRESIDENT BIDEN DROPS OUT

Following President Biden’s announcement on Sunday, July 21, that he will drop out of the presidential election race and not seek re-election, Gov. Hogan released the following statement:

Gov. Hogan: “I respect President Biden for his decades of public service. I believe he made the right decision for his family and the country. These are dangerous and unprecedented times. He should be commended for putting the country ahead of personal ambition.

The only way out of this cycle of chaos, divisiveness and dysfunction is to elect principled, common sense and experienced leaders who will focus on the day-to-day challenges facing Americans. We need less palace intrigue, less partisan nonsense, and more decisive action to solve the serious problems facing our nation. That’s why I’m running for U.S. Senate—to overcome all of the toxic politics and to bring strong, independent leadership to Washington.”

A BIG ENDORSEMENT

On Tuesday, July 23, Gov. Hogan was honored to receive the endorsement of the Maryland Troopers Association and have the backing of the brave men and women who sacrifice so much to keep our communities safe.

Gov. Hogan: “Our troopers and their families have always been near and dear to my heart, so this means a great deal to me. Advocating for Maryland’s law enforcement has always been a top priority of mine—I’ll keep fighting for them from the first moment they put on uniform until long after they retire.”

STANDING WITH ISRAEL

On Wednesday, July 24–the same day Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed lawmakers–Gov. Hogan sent a letter to his opponent calling on her to reverse her support for cutting off aid to Israel, and to join him in urging the Senate to act against antisemitism and protect Maryland and America’s Jewish community.

Gov. Hogan: “At this critical hour, Maryland and America’s Jewish community need leaders who will stand with them regardless of the political winds. This is not about the differences between the right and the left—it is about the difference between right and wrong.”

CELEBRATING A GOOD FRIEND

The same day, Gov. Hogan was honored to join Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Vice Presidents Mike Pence and Al Gore, and Senate leaders from both sides of the aisle at the memorial service celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of his good friend, Senator Joe Lieberman.

Gov. Hogan: “I was honored to serve alongside Joe for three years as National Co-Chair of No Labels. His extraordinary lifetime of public service and his willingness to put country over party sets an example that our nation needs now more than ever.”

MORE LAW ENFORCEMENT ENDORSEMENTS

On Thursday, July 25, Gov. Hogan received the endorsement of a coalition of fourteen sheriffs from across Maryland.

Gov. Hogan: “Our local law enforcement is faced with unprecedented challenges right now–they deserve representation in Washington who will stand up for them and work with them to protect our communities.

In the Senate, I will stand with our brave men and women in uniform and make sure they continue to have the resources they need to keep our Maryland families safe.”

“The entire reason why I ran for governor in the first place was to fight for hard working Marylanders, mom and pop small businesses, and retirees who were just struggling to get by. In 2014, Maryland had raised taxes 43 times in a row. We were losing businesses and jobs. As a lifelong Marylander, that just broke my heart.”

A Personal Message from Governor Larry Hogan:
[link removed]

Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.

When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.

Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.

Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.

I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.

It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.

So if you can chip in a donation of $25 or more, it will go a long way in helping me continue building a strong campaign.

For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!

Will you join me today and help end the dysfunction in Washington?
Thank you,

Larry Hogan
