Hi Friend,
Amid the rising summer temperatures, animals around the world are demonstrating their remarkable ability to stay cool in inventive ways. From elephants flapping their ears to release heat to pigs seeking out mud baths, they’ve made staying cool an art form. You can read about these amazing animals and more in our blog.
But while animals have their ingenious ways of coping with the heat, there are limits to how much they can take. Climate change has caused temperatures to soar to new heights with heat waves becoming longer, more frequent, and more intense – and both humans and animals are suffering as a result. One of the largest contributors to this is factory farming. Factory farming rips down forests to plant crops for animal feed, releasing carbon into the atmosphere. It also devastates wildlife habitats, displaces local communities, and profits from the cruel treatment of billions of farmed animals each year. From methane emissions to deforestation for animal feed crops, factory farming is straining our planet and its inhabitants. |
