We’re about to finish up our bus tour across Iowa and I wanted to see if you could spare one more moment for me to personally ask you to make a contribution to our campaign.

As I told you the other day, August is a notoriously difficult month for fundraising -- and this one has been no exception.

The difference, however, is that after I asked you to step up -- we had one of our best fundraising days in weeks.

But we’re still behind where we had hoped to be at this point in August, and if we don’t get back on track soon, my team is going to have to make some tough budget and staffing decisions.

So we’re setting a goal of raising $250,000 in grassroots donations before midnight on Friday. It’s an ambitious goal, but if we can hit it, we’ll be right where we need to be to win this thing.
