A lot of shit has gone down in the past few weeks, so this may have missed your notice:

President Biden has promised to focus on cleaning up the Supreme Court during his final 5 months.

Rumor has it he will support establishing term limits and an enforceable code of ethics (the Supreme Court's current code is only valuable as toilet paper — because there's no enforcement mechanism).

This is great. But 5 months isn't a lot of time to get it done.

Why term limits? Seems pretty shady that 9 unelected people get lifetime appointments with NO accountability mechanism. I'm responsible to the people of Pennsylvania every 6 years. My colleagues in the House every 2 years. And the president gets their public performance review every 4 years.

And unlike the rest of federal judges, the Supreme Court doesn't have an enforceable code of ethics.

When Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito got busted for accepting undisclosed gifts from millionaires and billionaires… nothing! Not even a slap on the wrist. And despite both of their partners expressing support for the January 6th insurrection, neither of them recused themselves from those cases.

It's not just optics either. Their rulings on everything from Trump's immunity to overturning Roe are clearly about what's best for their conservative sugar daddies and Donald Trump… not the American people.

If it walks, talks, and smells like corruption… that's corruption. And it's why public opinion on the Supreme Court is in the shitter.
