John, have you ever heard of pickin’ rock?
Pickin’ rock is exactly what it sounds like: painstakingly picking up rocks and removing them from the field. I spent long days as a kid pickin’ rock—only to find eight more waiting for me.
It’s backbreaking. Boring. Dirty. Completely unsatisfying work. But somebody’s gotta do it.
Rocks damage farm equipment, making planting and harvesting a whole lot more difficult. So while I hated every second of it, I sucked it up and got it done.
You learn a lot of lessons growing up as a farm kid, and pickin’ rock was an important one. It taught me humility, patience, and persistence.
Unsurprisingly, those lessons have served me well in the Senate. Getting things done isn’t easy when both sides can barely work together—but with a little bit of elbow grease and hard work, I was able to pass more bills last year than any of my colleagues.
Look, this race will be the toughest fight of my life. The other side is launching attack ads as we speak, and election experts say this race could go either way. But if we put in the hard work now, I know we can win this.
If you’re able, I’m asking you to chip in any amount to help me defend Montana’s Senate seat.

Just like pickin’ rock, there’s always more to do—and it won’t always be easy. Whether it’s fighting for veterans, lowering costs for working families, or standing up for farmers and ranchers, you have my word that I’ll keep working until the job is done.
Thank you,
Jon
