Hi, friend — did you see me on MSNBC last night?

A lot has happened in the last couple weeks: President Biden made the patriotic decision to step down from seeking reelection and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, and now we’re seeing a surge of grassroots momentum from Democrats across the country.

And just days before this major announcement, my far-right opponent, Rick Scott, spoke at the Republican National Convention where he threw his full support behind Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and their extremist agenda. He also announced a brand-new $400k ad buy — and he already spent hundreds of thousands running Spanish language ads directly calling me out during the Copa América broadcast.

That's why I was so glad to discuss the news with Lawrence O’Donnell on The Last Word to spread the word nationwide about how high the stakes are in Florida's elections.

Listen: Rick Scott co-sponsored a national abortion ban, he wrote the plan to end Medicare and Social Security, and he wants to raise taxes on the middle class. This is a guy whose agenda is too extreme for even Mitch McConnell — and now he’s running to take McConnell’s place as the next Senate Republican leader.

Friend, we absolutely cannot let him become the Senate majority leader this November cannot let him become the Senate majority leader this November.

Make no mistake: Mitch McConnell's time as Senate GOP leader was one of the worst things to ever happen to the Senate. It will take years for our country and our democracy to fully recover from his decades of corruption, cronyism, extremism, and obstruction.

But Rick Scott as Senate GOP leader would be much, much worse.

He's already spent over $4 MILLION running attack ads, and he can keep writing checks from his massive fortune of up to almost a quarter billion dollars. Last time around, he spent $64 million of his own fortune to buy his seat.

I'm not just up against an extremist, friend — I'm up against a multi-millionaire extremist. With this momentum on our side, we have a golden opportunity to build the resources it'll take to retire him, so long as I can count on your help. Will you please rush $5 to help me build a grassroots campaign that can defeat Scott's fortune, flip Florida blue, and stop the GOP's anti-choice extremism in Florida and across the nation?

Thank you for being a part of this movement to turn the tides in Florida.
