Dear Supporter,
Canadians are hurting.
Since the COVID-19 crisis started, over five million of our fellow citizen have lost their jobs. Tens of thousands of business owners have been forced to close their doors. And seniors have seen their savings take a hit.
While everyday Canadians have seen their incomes shrink, our elected representatives got a $3,700 raise this April. Members of Parliament are now making $182,600.
We asked members of Parliament to donate their raises to charity. To date, 163 MPs have confirmed they’re doing the right thing. Hopefully the other 175 follow that example.
But politicians around the world are going further to lead by example.
In New Zealand, India, Japan, South Africa and many other jurisdictions, politicians are taking pay cuts ranging from 20 to 30 per cent to show support for their citizens and make sure money is going to more urgent needs.
Our elected officials need to be held to the same standard. That is why we need your help. Please sign our petition asking federal MPs cut their salaries. After all, if everyday Canadians are expected to make sacrifices in this time of crisis, so should our elected representatives.

Thank you for all you do. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as this campaign develops in the coming weeks. In the meantime, stay safe and stay healthy!
Sincerely,
- Renaud, Shannon, Todd and the entire CTF team
P.S.: Unlike politicians in Ottawa, we can’t just hike taxes to fund ourselves. We rely solely on voluntary contributions from Canadians like you who believe in our mission of lower taxes, less waste and accountable governments. Please consider chipping in at https://www.taxpayer.com/donate
