John: One of the first things I do when I'm meeting New Yorkers is grab a pen and open up my notebook.

I take everything that they share with me and write it down — their stories, the challenges facing our communities and their ideas for solutions and suggestions for making our government better. 

I’ve found that if you lead with empathy, if you listen with an open heart, you can find common ground and build consensus with just about anyone.

Now, as we inch closer to Election Day, it's absolutely critical for my team to get feedback from our most engaged supporters to make sure my campaign strategy is successful.
