Dear Friends,
I am deeply grateful for President Biden's unwavering service to this country. He is a historic leader who healed our democracy and brought our country out of the pandemic stronger. The Biden-Harris Administration increased jobs and wages, took action against gun violence, fought to protect reproductive rights, invested in our infrastructure — and united people for a better nation.
Access to Birth Control Act
This week, I reintroduced the Access to Birth Control Act to protect reproductive freedom nationwide. The legislation would guarantee patients timely access to birth control, both prescribed and over the counter, at pharmacies nationwide. A pharmacy employee’s non-medical opinion should never weigh into a private health decision — yet, in 26 states, they have refused to fulfill patients’ birth control medication, or denied over-the-counter birth control purchases, including emergency contraception.
$430 Million to Combat Pollution in Illinois
I am thrilled that Illinois will receive over $430 million to combat climate pollution and support the state's goal to be carbon-free by 2045. A clean energy future should leave no one behind, and these community-driven solutions, funded by the EPA, will spur economic growth for all.

Affordable Housing in IL-02
I was delighted to join the ribbon cutting ceremony for Hope Center Foundation’s first modular home as part of their affordable housing initiative. An affordable home is life changing for families, and this will be just the first of many.
Protecting IVF Access
The overturning of Roe v. Wade stripped reproductive freedom from millions of American women and families, and empowered extreme legislators and judges to attack reproductive health care. Abortion was never the end: it was only the beginning. The far-reaching consequences of overturning Roe have endangered the future of assisted reproductive technology (ART), particularly, in vitro fertilization (IVF). I joined a discharge petition this week to force a vote on the Right to IVF Act.
