Working to Make Apostle Islands a National Park
We all know Wisconsin is home to many scenic landscapes that are deserving of national park status.
This week, I was proud to join my colleagues among the Wisconsin delegation in an effort to designate the Apostle Islands a national park. I am supporting legislation that would upgrade the islands from their current designation as a national lakeshore to a new designation as a national park.
As Wisconsinites we know of the incredible natural beauty here and this is a great opportunity to further protect and promote it. I had the opportunity to visit the caves there in 2015 (pictured above) and I hope to get an opportunity to return to the Apostle Islands' impressive ice caves again soon!
Standing By Our Democratic Ally Israel
Since the October 7th terrorist attacks on Israel perpetrated by Hamas, we have seen a wave of antisemitism across our communities and across the globe.
This week, Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit to our nation's capital presented a unique opportunity to demonstrate the continued support of our Jewish community and our close ally, Israel.
During a time of war, terrorism, and instability in the Middle East, it is important that we firmly stand behind the Jewish community. I'm working in Congress to do just that. My bill, which disrupts the ability of Hamas to fund terrorism and violence, was recently signed into law. It also makes it harder for state sponsors of terrorism, like Iran, to abuse International Monetary Fund (IMF) resources to finance terrorist organizations, including Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah.

Exploring Practical Applications of Artificial Intelligence
This week, the Financial Services Committee held a hearing titled "AI Innovation Explored: Insights into AI Applications in Financial Services and Housing".
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology develops, it creates opportunities for financial services and housing industries that can give workers across Wisconsin tools to improve their lives.
During the hearing, I brought attention to how AI is being used to fight back against financial fraud, improve the home buying process, and more.

Wisconsin Boys and Girls Nation in D.C.
American Legion Boys and Girls Nation gives young leaders an education on the structure and function of federal government. While in the program, the students get the opportunity to visit D.C. to get firsthand experience into how the federal government works.
They visit Capitol Hill and meet their representatives, providing each student an opportunity to discuss local issues and share bills they have written as part of their program.
I had the chance to meet Boys and Girls Nation participants this week, including Claire from Pleasant Prairie and Elin from Wausau. I hope each of you had a great time in D.C.!
Good Luck to Our Athletes!
