In this week's roundup: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress and my vote to create a task force to investigate the attempted assassination of President Trump. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week!

MY RESPONSE TO ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU'S ADDRESS TO CONGRESS

Last month, I traveled to Israel and met with Prime Minister Netanyahu to strengthen our alliance and express our unwavering support for Israel.

His message this week was the same message he gave me in June — the people of Israel deeply appreciate U.S. support and they need it now more than ever to defeat Hamas.

I will always stand with Israel in its fight to defeat terrorism and protect democracy.

MY REMARKS IN THE HOUSE AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF AFFORDABLE CROP INSURANCE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF IOWA FARMERS AND PRODUCERS

I introduced the Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act — which is now part of the Farm Bill — to lower the cost of crop insurance for young and beginning farmers.

By supporting the next generation of Iowa farmers and producers, we strengthen the future of Iowa agriculture.

HELPING OUR SMALL BUSINESSES RECOVER AFTER STORMS AND DISASTERS

When severe weather or other disasters strike, it’s absolutely vital that our small businesses have access to the financial support that they need to keep their doors open and keep employees on payroll.

That’s why I recently voted for the Rural Small Business Resilience Act. This legislation requires the Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience to help rural businesses in disaster-designated areas gain access to disaster assistance including low-interest loans and recovery grants, navigate uncertainty after disasters and keep our economy growing.

This legislation also ensures that our businesses can access the resources and capital that they need to get back on their feet and that business owners are aware of the support available to them in the aftermath of severe storms.

Feenstra: Helping Iowa businesses recover after disasters

The recent floods that devastated our communities have once again tested our resilience.

PRESIDING OVER THE HOUSE FLOOR

On Wednesday, I had the privilege of presiding over the House Floor.

I will continue to defend our Constitution, uphold our American values, and be a strong voice for our families, farmers, small businesses, and rural communities.

MEETING WITH THE RENEWABLE FUELS ASSOCIATION

This week, I met with the Renewable Fuels Association to talk about how we can strengthen our biofuels industry.

I will continue to work to secure year-round E-15 nationwide and advance policies that add value to agriculture.

GIVING OUR PRODUCERS THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO REBUILD AFTER STORMS

Our farmers and producers have been hit hard by tornadoes, floods, and other disasters, which have taken a serious financial toll on our rural communities. They need immediate relief to make up for costly losses and rebuild from damages, but current restrictions on USDA disaster programs prevent our producers from receiving the support that they need.

Alongside Governor Reynolds and the entire Iowa delegation, I urged Secretary Vilsack and the USDA to use their existing statutory authority to adjust their disaster programs and deliver critical relief to our agricultural community during this very challenging time.

SITTING DOWN WITH MISSOURI RIVER ENERGY SERVICES

It was great to have representatives from Missouri River Energy Services — including my friends Eric and Murray from Sioux Center — and talk about a variety of energy and tax issues.

I’ll always be a strong voice for our rural communities and businesses in Congress.

VOTING TO CREATE A TASK FORCE TO INVESTIGATE THE ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT TRUMP

The attempted assassination of President Trump was a total security failure that cannot be tolerated. One of our fellow Americans was killed, others were injured, and President Trump nearly lost his life.

That's why I voted to create a task force to ensure that we fully investigate this security breakdown and deliver answers to the American people.

WE MUST SECURE OUR BORDER AND PROTECT OUR COMMUNITIES

At the beginning of his administration, President Biden tasked Vice President Harris with securing our border. She not only failed to do her job; she never even tried. Under her watch, more than 8 million illegal immigrants have crossed our border while terrorists and drug traffickers have snuck through the cracks.

Since President Biden and Vice President Harris have failed to protect our communities, I have voted to finish the wall, restore "Remain in Mexico," and fully fund our brave border patrol agents. American families deserve secure borders and safe communities.

Feenstra Condemns Biden-Harris Administration's Open-Border Policies

Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for a congressional resolution condemning the open-border policies of the Biden-Harris Administration. "At the beginning of his administration, President Biden tasked Vice President Harris with securing our border. She not only failed to do her job; she never even tried.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: THE FARM BILL PREVENTS AMERICAN FARMLAND FROM FALLING INTO THE WRONG HANDS

Before I voted for the Farm Bill – which passed out of the House Agriculture Committee in May – I held many town halls with farmers and producers as part of my 36 County Tour and Feenstra Agriculture Tour to ensure that the priorities of our agricultural community were included in this vital legislation.

One of the most frequent concerns that I heard from our farming community was China and other foreign adversaries buying up our farmland.

That’s why I introduced the Foreign Agricultural Restrictions to Maintain Local Agriculture and National Defense (FARMLAND) Act – which was included in the Farm Bill – to enhance oversight of foreign land ownership in the United States.
