Hey John,
You have another chance to do some damage to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax and help farmers save money at the same time.
Bill C-234 is a bill that would remove Ottawa’s carbon tax from natural gas and propane used on farms. Gas and diesel are already exempt from the carbon taxes. But farmers still pay carbon taxes on the natural gas and propane they use to heat barns and dry grain.
Supporters like you have already been pushing politicians to get farmers a break on the carbon tax. It’s a great first step to scrap the carbon tax completely. And now it’s time to prepare for the next battle in this fight.
Members of Parliament are home for the summer and while they head to the lake and local barbeques, we will be gearing up to keep fighting the carbon tax.
Without relief, the carbon tax will cost farmers almost $1 billion by 2030. Polling shows that 70 per cent of Canadians want the government to scrap the carbon tax on farmers.
When MPs head back to Ottawa, we will be ready with an army of supporters to make sure they know that Bill C-234 needs to be passed and farmers need relief from the carbon tax.
But the work starts now to make sure farmers get a break on the carbon tax.
Will you sign the PETITION and join the fight to pass Bill C-234 and get farmers a break on the carbon tax?
The carbon tax makes it more expensive for farmers to dry grain and heat their barns.
Bill C-234 would remove the carbon tax from natural gas and propane used on farms.
We, the undersigned, call for the immediate passage and implementation of Bill C-234.

Just like farmers across the country have a to-do list to get ready for harvest, taxpayers have a to-do list to scrap the carbon tax. And getting a break for farmers is the first item on that list!
Sincerely,
Gage Haubrich
Prairie Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation
