“Chicken wings advertised as ‘boneless’ can have bones, Ohio Supreme Court decides”
- The Associated Press, 7/25/24
Team,
The headline itself is as absurd as the ruling: yesterday Republicans on the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that it was unreasonable for a Southwest Ohio man to expect his “boneless chicken wings” didn’t contain bones.
If this sounds like a complete lack of common sense, you’re not alone. The dissenting Democratic justices called out the decision as “utter jabberwocky” with Justice Michael Donnelly noting that “When [people] read the word ‘boneless,’ they think that it means ‘without bones,’ as do all sensible people.”
It’s time to restore common sense to the Ohio Supreme Court: Chip in to our judicial fund right now >>
This is only the latest example of Republicans on the Supreme Court throwing common sense out the window and molding the law to fit their political agendas.
Over and over again, the GOP has put special interests first – even when it means relying on an argument that a kindergartener would know is nonsense. If we can’t trust them to know the definition of “boneless,” we certainly can’t trust them with our rights.
Let’s put an end to the jabberwocky right now: Rush $5 to our judicial fund >>
Thank you,
Ohio Dems
Ohio is the only state in the country that can flip its Supreme Court this year. Can Ohio Democrats count on you to chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can to help fuel our fight to Build the Bench and flip the Court? →
