Democrat,

This past week was a whirlwind for Democrats all over the country. I expressed my deep gratitude last week to President Joe Biden for his service to our country throughout his storied career. His selflessness in dropping from the 2024 race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for President shows his continued commitment to people over politics. New Jersey’s 2024 DNC Delegation quickly met on Monday and enthusiastically endorsed Kamala Harris [[link removed]] for President. (New Jersey’s two uncommitted delegates expressed their desire to remain uncommitted.) The delegation then met on Wednesday evening in the spirit of celebration but also to listen to President Biden address the nation about his decision. I couldn’t be more determined to deliver New Jersey to elect the first female, Black, South Asian President in United States history. To do this, we must deliver an overwhelming amount of doors knocked, calls made, and newly registered voters. The New Jersey Democratic State Committee will be rolling out virtual phone and text banks to reach Democrats across the state, register here [[link removed]] to get notified of all volunteer opportunities.

Gov. Phil Murphy joined Democratic leaders throughout the state and the nation in endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris following President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. The support from prominent figures like Gov. Murphy reflects a broader move within the party to rally behind Harris and unify Democratic support.

The Murphy Administration announced that 133 New Jersey employers have received grants through the Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program. These grants will fund 574 paid summer internships for New Jersey college students and recent graduates.

Interns will earn $20 per hour for 150-200 hours over 10 weeks. This is the third year of the program, which is supported by $2.4 million from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The Office of the Secretary of Higher Education has increased internship opportunities by 23% from last year.

“Infusing our state businesses with local talent from our esteemed colleges and universities not only supports New Jersey’s innovation economy but also builds a stronger and more prosperous state,” said Governor Murphy .“By investing in paid internships, we are ensuring that New Jersey’s diverse talent pool has strong incentives to develop their skills and professional networks with Garden State employers of all sizes while also getting the pay they deserve and need to thrive.”

On Wednesday, in a heartfelt address from the Oval Office, President Joe Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, emphasizing that it was motivated by a commitment to preserving democracy and ushering in a new generation of leadership.

Biden framed his choice as a selfless act, prioritizing the nation's needs over his own ambitions. He expressed deep respect for the presidency while affirming his greater love for the country.

“I revere this office. But I love my country more,” said President Biden . You can view my statement on President Biden here [[link removed]] .
