Friend,
Next week is going to be exciting
for Jill’s campaign for people, planet, and peace!
Following the successful filing of
over 6000 petition signatures in Alaska last week, almost twice as
many as were needed, we’ll be submitting our petitions to
six more states next week.
Monday: The Green
Party of Missouri will be submitting over 17,000 signatures to the
Secretary of State’s office. This was an all volunteer effort that
launched over a year ago and exceeded expectations. Signatures will
also be submitted in New Jersey for Jill Stein, where there is an
impressive full slate of 13 candidates for Congress and
Senate.
Tuesday: Massachusetts will wrap up the
initial submission of petitions to town clerks. Unbelievably, in
Massachusetts people must hand deliver petitions to town clerks for
validation, then go back three weeks later to retrieve them, then take
them to the state capitol. If you ever doubted Democrats’ desire to
keep competitors off the ballot, just consider this sinister
scheme.
Thursday:
Petitions will be submitted in Vermont, Nebraska and Pennsylvania. In
Pennsylvania we have gathered nearly 10,000 signatures, twice the
requirement, and in Nebraska we are nearly tripling the
threshold.
Ballot access is an expensive and
burdensome process. But getting on the ballot is only half the
struggle because the anti-Democratic Party has been making good on
their threats to attempt to sue Jill off the ballot wherever we’re
successful. In Nevada, where our hard working petitioners turned in
almost three times the required signatures, the dirty Dems have forced
us to spend over $20,000 just to be able to secure that hard-won
victory and the costs are still adding up!
With every ballot access success we
have, we can expect to keep being dragged into frivolous lawsuits with
the purpose of draining our resources. That’s why we need you to
donate what you can to make sure that people all over the nation have
the choice to vote for Jill’s empowering anti-genocide, pro-worker,
pro-planet vision.
