Unleashing the Power of US-Japan Economic Security Cooperation Celebrating Refugee Talents: The 2024 Refugee Olympic Team
Promoting economic security has emerged as a key interest in the US-Japan alliance, most notably to coordinate on the advancement of critical technologies. At the same time, both the United States and Tokyo are invested in securing the competitiveness of the industries of the future within their own borders. Our experts came together to discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead. Refugees and forcibly displaced athletes have their lives, including their careers in professional sports, disrupted by conflict and other displacement challenges. However, the 2024 Paris Olympics is host to the third Summer Refugee Olympic Team, which provides elite refugee athletes with the chance to compete at the highest level while representing millions of other forcibly displaced people worldwide.
