Friend, as Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, it is my responsibility to combat corruption and hold elected leaders who abuse their public office accountable.

That’s why I negotiated a bipartisan deal to ban Members of Congress from buying, trading, and owning stocks. Should this historic bill be signed into law, it would immediately ban Members of Congress from buying stocks and other covered investments and prohibit members from selling stocks 90 days after enactment.

Friend, public officials should make decisions in the best interest of the American people – not their own financial gain.
