This is shameful,
John.

Right now, insurance giant American International Group (AIG) is planning
to insure the disastrous East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). At the
same time, AIG is refusing to insure homes in states impacted by
increasing climate disasters, like California and Florida.^1

It’s insurance brokers, like AIG, that are making the climate crisis worse
by enabling the fossil fuel industry to damage our planet. Now, they’re
targeting people in climate-vulnerable communities to protect their bottom
line.

That’s why today, our climate movement is gathering at the AIG office in
New York City. Over 5,000 people already signed our petition demanding the
insurance giant drop EACOP in Uganda and Tanzania. Which, if built, would
be a devastating carbon bomb that would make climate disasters worse
everywhere.

The last thing AIG wants is bad press. So, we’re ramping up the pressure
and exposing them on social media for all their customers to see.

If we can cut off EACOP’s insurance, we can stop the disastrous pipeline
before the oil starts flowing. [ [link removed] ]Can you join us in this urgent push to

The truth is that AIG and other U.S. insurance companies have a long
history of funding dirty projects around the world, continuing a system of
colonialism and exploitation.

Climate-wrecking pipelines like EACOP destroy our planet, and vulnerable
communities like those in the United States and across the globe are left
to shoulder the burden of being the most impacted by the climate crisis.

We all share one planet,
John. That’s why, to protect
our future, our movement has successfully pressured 28 insurance brokers
to drop this pipeline — and now we need your help to get AIG to do the
same.

In solidarity,

Nico for 350.org
