John,
You’ll love to hear this: Ken Paxton just lost another lawsuit to overturn a Ground Game policy — this time in San Marcos!
On Monday evening, Hays County Judge Sherri Tibbe dismissed Paxton’s lawsuit against the city of San Marcos. Paxton was trying to overrule the will of San Marcos voters, who voted in November 2022 by an overwhelming margin — 82% to 18% — to decriminalize personal marijuana possession.
This decision is very important for us — not only to vindicate the results of our 2022 electoral victory, but also for our 2024 campaigns in Dallas, Lockhart, and Bastrop. One of the arguments that opponents make is that our policies are not “legal.” Now, Texas judges in two counties have ruled otherwise!
Please help us celebrate this legal victory with a contribution of $25 today. We’re on track to win big this November, and need your support!
Changing Texas politics requires many strategies, and our campaigns include several of them. From voter engagement to voter registration, from policy advocacy to legal victories, Ground Game is committed to the struggle for political change.
Join us in this work! Every bit helps.
In celebration,
Ground Game Texas
