John, I heard my new interns and fellows reached out and took over the email program a few days ago. They are just so full of energy and hope — they remind me why this job is so important.
They came up with the idea to ask for voting commitments and they keep asking me and Luke to follow up on how we’re doing. They want to get 80% of folks on our list signed up and committed to showing up at the ballot box this November.

In this job, it can be easy to fall prey to the chaos and division of the political world. Especially when the opposing party’s rhetoric and platform continue trending toward the extreme. But having these interns and fellows around has given my team a second wind and serves as a real-life demonstration of exactly what we’re fighting for.
A lot of you have already committed to vote (and made the team so happy) and it looks like we’re close to hitting our goal. I’m happy to hear that because we have one uphill battle ahead of us this November and we can’t waste this opportunity. So if you haven’t already, commit to vote here.
A lot of my new team members are high schoolers who aren’t even able to vote yet. But they show up throughout the week energized and ready to protect our democracy and fight the good fight. We can all learn a lesson or two from them…
