With the Summer Olympics opening today, I wanted to reflect on my own time as an Olympic athlete, and how it relates to Montana's future. This email is a bit longer than usual, but it would mean so much if you read the whole thing.
It is an enormous honor and privilege to compete on the U.S. Olympic team, and I had that great privilege as a rower in 1996 and 2000.
The Olympic Games are about much more than performing in a single moment in time. They show us that the bounds of human achievement can surpass our imaginations.
The Olympics inspire us because they demand the best of us.
In times of chaos, it is good to be reminded of all that we are capable of and what we can accomplish when we band together and strive for greatness.
My race for Congress is no different.
Montana has a long tradition of strong leaders, and right now, the country needs our strength. That's why I'm fighting to take my Montana work ethic, which helped me make the Olympics, all the way to Congress.
