Hello and welcome to my weekly update!
As the final full week before Parliament heads off for Summer recess, the new government have continued to make rapid progress in undoing the last 14 years of Conservative chaos, and getting on with delivering for the British people.
I've had another busy week in my new role as Public Health Minister, with meetings in the department and my first appearance at the government dispatch box during Health & Social Care Questions.
Despite all the excitement of the last few weeks, it will be great to get back up to the constituency over Summer, and spending time in our community.
Thank you once again to all who have shown their support and sent thanks over recent weeks, I look forward to continuing to deliver on the promises I made to the people of Gorton & Denton.

Too many barriers exist across our society that entrench inequality for young women and girls, and all those living in deprived communities.
It's why this Labour Government will take a mission-driven approach, with all departments working together to tackle inequality at every turn.
My contribution to BBC North West Politics yesterday.
I had a great time at the Victoria Park Community Centre on Market St in Denton for their summer table-top sale!
Lots of great craft stalls, a tombola, and delicious cakes.
The new mural from Ensemble Theatre also looked great!
Well done to all involved.

This government is committed to delivering the reform our NHS and social care system needs after 14 years of Conservative chaos, whether that's using cross-party talks to move towards a National Care Service, increasing accountability for NHS managers, and much, much more.
A pleasure to respond to members on all sides of the House in my first outing as a Minister at the Despatch Box during today's Health & Social Care Questions..

Formerly a Spanish territory, Western Sahara has been occupied by Morocco since 1975, with the indigenous Sahrawi under occupation directly or living as refugees in the harsh conditions of the Sahara Desert.
As well as the powerful displays and videos, it was amazing to hear about the brilliant work of a local group of Levenshulme residents, who have fundraised to help Sahrawi refugees living in inhospitable desert refugee camps to be able to grow their own food produce. Theyโve funded polytunnels for food production and the sinking of wells for water.
Itโs beautiful to think thereโs a bit of South Manchester love in the middle of the Sahara sands.

Thanks to this brilliant group for inviting me today. Keep up the great work.

Iโm receiving a high volume of enquiries from concerned constituents.
The video footage circulating is both shocking and deeply concerning and I am now making urgent enquiries of GMP and others.
One of the specific roles I have as a Health Minister is for liaising with fellow Health Ministers across the Devolved Administrations, Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories.
Today it was an honour to meet with Minister Gemma Arias-Vasquez who is in London to discuss the UKโs strong working relationship with Gibraltar.
The UK Labour Government is fully committed to continuing to support Gibraltarians to access specialist healthcare in the UK as well as to try and resolve key issues arising from Brexit, which directly impacts on the Territoryโs access to the European Single Market and Customs Union, as well as on the reciprocal health and social security arrangements of Gibraltarians working in Spain.
I look forward to working closely with Minister Arias-Vasquez on these issues and more in the months to come.
